Dressing Like A Hollywood Starlet

Here is the thing. Audrey Hepburn is my favorite (Grace Kelly is a close second). I mentioned in my "Getting To Know You" post that she has been my favorite since I was 12 years old. She was told by one of her ballet teachers she wouldn't get far... but she ended up being one of the most famous actresses of all time. PLUS she was in a movie where she danced her little heart out with Mr. Astaire. Take that teacher! She also was SUPER kind and truly unaware of how pretty she was. She cared about her family more than anything and knew life was meant to be filled with love and lived to the fullest.

I am sure you are ready for me to get to the point. I had to get some new head-shots taken a bit ago (done by the awesome Tessa Barton) and had to decide what to wear. Sooooo for one of my outfits I did my own spin on Miss. Hepburns famous Breakfast at Tiffany's black dress and pearl ensemble. (Fun fact she actually DIDN'T want to star in that movie. True Story) Obviously it isn't as stunning as the Starlet's BUT I had fun pretending.

Audrey often wore black... it's very appealing. But to make this black pop in the pictures I chose a dress that was an interesting length, just past the knee is a very 50's length to me and I find it interesting. It isn't to the knee and isn't to the floor...conservative but not boring.  (One of the judges said the same thing on Project Runway so you know it's GOTTA be true). I chose some HIGH heels so my legs didn't look short and layered on the jewelry- which isn't what I usually do. But I think it turned out well. What do you say dah-lings?
