Happy Valentine's Week everybody! I hope it is full of love, chocolate and treats. Whether you are celebrating with someone special, ooooor on your own it's good time to remember to be kind to those around you. AND it's especially a good time to remember to love yo-self! Cheesy but I think we all
need to remember to be kind to ourselves...

Moving on! One of my favorite things about Valentine's day (besides chocolate) is sugar cookies! More specifically, my mother's sugar cookies. I swear to you, they are the best sugar cookies of all time. I consider myself a sugar cookie tasting expert, I try them pretty much every where I go, and these are the best of the best. Give the recipe a try and tell me what you think!

My Mama's Sugar Cookies

Ingredients:
*4 1/2 cups of flour
*1 tsp baking powder
*1 tsp baking soda
*3/4 tsp. salt
*1/2 tsp nutmeg (The special ingredient!!!)
*1/2 tsp almond flavoring
*1 cup butter
*1 1/2 cup sugar
*2 tsp. vanilla
*2 eggs
*3/4 cup nonfat sour cream or plain nonfat yogurt

Cream butter and sugar. Beat in eggs, vanilla, almond flavoring and nutmeg. Then sift dry ingredients, then add the dry ingredients alternately with sour cream until smooth. Chill for at least 1 hour. Roll and cut into cute hearts (a must). Bake at 375 for about 9-10 minutes, until the bottom is a nice golden brown.
