Making Monday Marvelous: Part 3


Happy Monday ya'll! It is time to tackle another week! Are you ready for it? Of course you are. Anyway, I am kind of digging these here Monday posts because, more than anything, they help me get through Monday. It seems easier when there is something fun to do/look forward to. Now, I am going to share a workout with you. I am sure many of you are thinking- that is NOT fun and I do not look forward to that. BUT I do this on Monday's because Sunday's are usually when I eat the most so the next day I feel like I got to work it off. Also Mocktails are just FUN, after you've survived a Monday its fun to make a fun drink and relax a little. You earned it!

A Run and Bootcamp
I got this workout from my cousin. 
I have no idea where she got it from and I do NOT claim it as my own.
All I know is she posted it once upon a time and I loved it so I am going to share with you.

Run 3 miles.
After that complete 40 reps, 30, then 20 of the following.
After ever two exercises complete 15 burpees (1st round), 10 burpees (2nd round) and then 5.

D-bel lunge with shoulder press
Push-ups with superman at the bottom of your push-up
BURPEES

Alternating Bicep Curls
Skull Crushers
BURPEES

Deadlifts
Mountain Climbers
BURPEES

Bicycles
Russian Twists
BURPEES

Mocktail: Citrus Sun
 I LOVE this one. It tastes so refreshing and has a slight tang- BUT is still sweet at the same time.
My mother and I made this for a big group so.... here is the recipe if you want to share!
Here's what ya do:
Cut up an orange, grapefruit, lime, and add maraschino cherries.
Then add cranberry juice, pink grapefruit juice and gingerale.
 Drink up!

Make Monday Marvelous: Part 2


I am a little late today but better late than never. I am giving ya another "Make Monday Marvelous" post- because Monday's are, just, hard. Anyway, here is a workout to help you work off what you ate over the weekend and a mocktail to make Monday a little fancier.

Mile and Tabata
Run 1 Mile on the treadmill
After the mile to a series of tabatas*
Repeat 4 times

*Tabatas are going 20 seconds hard and resting 10 seconds- do this eight times)
(Sometimes I can only do the tabata 3 times... I am only human. Haha)

Mint to Be
You know by now that I don't do measurements when it comes to mocktails. Ha.
But here is one that my mom and I are obsessed with!
 You'll need:

Club Soda (Use Sprite if you want it sweeter)
Apple Juice
Lime
Mint Leaves

Put the ice and mint in first.
Add about a cup of Apple Juice and another cup of Club Soda.
Squeeze the lime in and you are good to go!
(We never smoosh the mint leaves in it makes it WAYYY too minty.)

A Little Bit of Marvelous On A Monday

You can see I am struggling today but the fact that this post is going up at noon. I went to bed late and, feeling sick, took some cold medicine. This resulted in me sleeping in a wee bit too long. When I finally woke I up I though, "Gah. It's Monday again." So I decided to do a post on things you can do on Monday to make it not so mehhhhhhh.


Monday Mocktails!
I don't drink, so I am always down for a good ole' Mocktail! The recipe I am going to give you is SO easy and I have been drinking it since I was small.

Ingredients:
Apple Juice
Gingerale
Lime

Basically mix the Apple Juice and Gingerale together. I don't have exact measurements because it totally depends on taste. Cut the lime in half and squeeze into the drink! Then, voila, the easiest Mocktail ever! (If you sip it through a cute straw it tastes better)


Work your Muscles on Monday
 For some reason if I work out on Monday it sets a precedent for the rest of the week (Sometimes it doesn't... I am only human.) So here is a workout I created to make me feel like I am tougher than Monday's.

Running, lifting, abing, and Elipticalling 
(Like my made up words?)

Run a mile
50 Bicep curls
Elliptical for 10 min
50 FULL RANGE Sit ups

Repeat 3x's
(If you are a cardio wiz... run farther/faster.)

Movie Monday's!
I have discovered that some movie theaters cut prices of movies on Monday's. What better way to start your week than having a little bit of fun? So I suggest checking out the theaters near you and seeing if they have special Monday deals! It will make this drab day not as bad.
